Why I Hate the Beatles

I am old enough to remember the effect of the rise of the rock and roll generation that threw off all categories of truth and love. It was "sex, drugs and rock and roll", and "If it feels good do it'. The fallout has been devastating. I remember watching the Beatles on Ed Sullivan show, the first time they played on American television.  It only took about four years after that for American culture to completely flip. The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, The Cream, Led Zepplin and the other "Classic Rock" groups mounted an all out assault against Christ. Millions of souls have been destroyed since, and millions whose souls were not swept into perdition, were massively harmed by their godless, immoral, idolatrous philosophy.  In the late sixties, two powerful forces converged: music and wicked musicians. The culture changed back then, in what was a lightning speed time compression of change, and I remember what it was like before and after.

I want to make it plain that I hate the Beatles. Specifically, I hate their work. I hate the sounds of their songs. I despise what they did... even the "sunny" songs they sang. I hate them, for the Bible teaches me to say,

"I hate the work of those who fall away. It will not cling to me. A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness" Psalm 101:3-4

"Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You? and do I not loathe those who rise up against You?  I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them my enemies." Psalm 139:21-22

"For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You. The boastful shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity. You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man." Psalm 5:4-6

Therefore I hate every false way." Psalm 119:104

"The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate." Proverbs 8:1

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret” Ephesians 5:11-12

I have not always hated the Beatles. I used to enjoy their sounds. But scripture has convinced me that it is wrong to celebrate ungodly celebrities and to affirm them by giving them my attention. I have no business enjoying the work of the enemies of God.
